A Trust Fund Victims Can't Trust

Ronald Saffold’s story

Los Angeles, California. Ronald worked his whole life as a craft services laborer for Warner Brothers studios. It was a difficult and dirty job, and Ronald would often come home covered in dust, which included deadly asbestos fibers.

At the time of his diagnosis with mesothelioma — a disease solely associated with asbestos — in October of 2004, he was 62 years old and hoping to retire soon so he could spend more time with Beverly, his wife of 33 years, and his grandchildren. Unfortunately, Ronald never got to enjoy his golden years.

Never adequately warned of the dangers of asbestos, he spent the last years of his life in severe pain, until he took his last breath on December 21, 2005.

How would the asbestos bailout bill hurt Ronald’s family?

Ronald’s case has been filed in Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles; his wife will be forced to the back of the “line” to begin the claims process again if the proposed asbestos trust fund is enacted.
