Kratom Litigation Group

Kratom (mitragyna speciosa) is a new, unregulated herbal extract that is native to southeast Asia and is becoming increasingly popular in the United States. Among other uses, Kratom is sold as a safe, all-natural alternative to opioids. As a result, vulnerable populations that struggle with addictions, PTSD, anxiety, stress, and chronic pain are consuming Kratom without knowing the dangers/risks of the product. Many people experience adverse side effects, including psychosis, liver failure, and even death. Since Kratom is new to the United States, limited scientific research exists about the substance. The Kratom Litigation Group educates members about Kratom, shares information and material related to the industry and manufacturers, and discusses litigation strategies and trends.

Group History

The Kratom Litigation Group was formed at the 2023 Winter Convention. Members have access to a Document library and list server. The Group meets at AAJ Annual and Winter conventions and plans to host programs and meetings throughout the year.

Dues: $150 per member annually
