Philadelphia 2008 Annual Convention: General Information

Education Program Information (MCLE/NCA Credit)
Earn approximately 32* MCLE and AAJ Education credits, including ethics credits, in five days. If you have specific MCLE questions, please call the NCA/MCLE Assistant at 800-NCA-1791 or 202-965-3500, ext. 612.
*Number of credits may vary depending on calculation method used by accreditation agency. AAJ is a state bar of California MCLE approved provider. View the AAJ Education Schedule. 
Registration
Register easily with a credit card
at www.justice.org/convention or
by mail, fax, or telephone using the registration form. Online, fax, and telephone registrations are accepted only with a credit card. Confirmations are mailed starting in April, with additional information about special events. Day rate registrations are not available in advance.
Early Registration Savings
- $150 off the on-site registration fee if you register by March 28, 2008
- $100 off the on-site registration fee if you register by May 2, 2008
- $50 off the on-site registration fee if you register by June 13, 2008
Convention Eligibility
Attending an AAJ Convention and receiving CLE credits is an exclusive benefit provided only to the following AAJ member types and their guests:
- Regular, Sustaining, President’s Club, Life, Paralegal Affiliates, Government, Military, Retired, Law Students, Law Graduates, and Law Professors only
- In addition, Judges, State and Provincial Trial Lawyer Association Executive Directors, and Staff are welcome.

National Officer Elections — Eligibility to Vote for Officers:
To vote during all elections or on any matter requiring a vote at the Annual Convention, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- You are a member in good standing, which means that your dues are paid in full. You must be registered for and present at the convention at the time of the elections.
- Your dues must have been paid in full as a voting member 60 days prior to the start of the Convention,
May 12, 2008.
- You are a voting member of AAJ, which is limited to these member categories: Regular, Life, Sustaining,
President’s Club, Honorary Life, or Retired Members who were formerly Regular, Life, Sustaining, or
President’s Club Members.

Convention Education Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships, based on need, will be awarded for entrance to convention education programs. Scholarships are awarded to selected members in practice less than 10 years and attending a convention for the first time. To receive an application form, contact the Meetings & Conventions Department at 800-424-2725, ext. 439. Submission deadline is June 13, 2008.
Exhibits/Hours
The AAJ Exposition is free to all convention registrants and guests.* A badge is required to visit the Exhibit Hall. Please stop by the Exhibitor Registration Desk to obtain a guest badge for the Exhibit Hall. Exhibits will be located in Franklin Hall on the fourth floor of the Philadelphia Marriott. *Children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

Business attire is appropriate for all events.
Travel Arrangements & Hotel Reservations
Executive Travel Associates (ETA) is AAJ’s Annual Convention travel agency. To request accommodations and/or air travel arrangements, you can:
Requests for hotel and travel reservations can only be accepted online or by mail, fax, or e-mail. Telephone calls are NOT accepted for hotel reservations. The cutoff date for travel and hotel reservations is June 13, 2008. ETA has negotiated special air programs for AAJ convention attendees. Significant savings are available on American Airlines (discount code A2278AI) and also on Amtrak (discount code X48R-929).
NOTE: To take advantage of AAJ’s discounted airfares and hotel accommodations, you MUST be registered for the AAJ convention.
