Pre-registration
Pre-registration for the AAJ 2008 Winter Convention has closed.
On-site registration will begin on Friday, January 25, 2008, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Grand Caribbean Ballroom, Salons 4-8 at the El Conquistador Resort and Golden Door Spa and will continue throughout the week.
Housing
The housing deadline of December 21, 2007 for the AAJ 2008 Winter Convention has passed. The room blocks have sold out at the El Conquistador Resort and Golden Day Spa and for the overflow property of the Rio Mar Resort and Spa.

Convention Eligibility
Attending the AAJ Convention is an exclusive benefit
provided to the following AAJ types: Regular, Sustaining, President's
Club, Life, Paralegal Affiliates, Government, Military, Retired, Law
Students, Law Graduates, Law Professors, and Judges only. State and
Provincial Trial Lawyers Association Executive Directors and Staff

Registration
Important Dates:
- Dec. 21-$50 off the registration fee; last day to pre-register
- Jan. 25, 2:00 pm-onsite registration begins in the Grand Caribbean Ballroom, Salons 4-8
Special Discounts
- Lawyers attending their first convention, who were first admitted
to practice with bar dates within the past ten years, receive a
50% discount.
- Spouse or guest of all New Lawyers (first admitted to practice
with bar dates within the past 10 years) receive a 50% discount.
- Paralegals attending the convention for the first time receive
a 50% discount.
- Three or more members from the same firm registering together
may take advantage of a 10% discount on registration fees.

You must be a member of AAJ in order to attend the convention. If

AAJ members eligible to attend the convention include: Regular, Sustaining, President’s Club, Life, Paralegal Affiliates, Government, Military, Retired, Law Students, and Law Professors. Judges are
welcome to attend all AAJ Education programs, including the convention.
Registration Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to AAJ. Cancellations received by January 4, 2008, will be subject to a 10% cancellation fee. Cancellations received between January 5, 2008 and January 16, 2008, will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee. After January 16, 2008, requests for refunds will not be honored.

Convention Education Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships based on need will be awarded for entrance to convention education programs. Scholarships are awarded to select members in practice less than 10 years, attending a convention for the first time. To obtain an application for, contact the Meetings & Conventions Department at 800-424-2725, ext. 439. December 21, 2007 is the deadline date to submit Convention Scholarship applications.

Resort casual attire is appropriate for all events during the convention.

Refreshment Breaks
Refreshment breaks will be available daily in the Exhibit Hall.
The Exhibit Hall is free to all members and non-members. A badge is
required to visit the Exhibit Hall.

Airport Transfer Procedures
El Conquistador Resort & Golden Door Spa operates transfer service
to and from Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport using luxury
motor coaches. Upon arrival at the airport, guests should proceed
to the baggage claim area, where they will see our uniformed bilingual
staff holding El Conquistador signs. The staff welcomes guests to
Puerto Rico, directs them to the appropriate carrousel to collect
their luggage and advise how to engage a porter for luggage assistance.
