AAJ News

Just as The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board says, "… the plaintiffs lobby never sleeps and has made it a priority to press Congress to outlaw mandatory arbitration in new legislation," AAJ continues to advocate for passage of the Arbitration Fairness Act (S. 987 /H.R. 1873) in order to protect consumers from abusive forced arbitration clauses.

Domestic Fuels Bill:
Foreign Manufacturer Fantasy

AAJ is aggressively fighting a bill that—under the guise of a plan to reduce foreign oil dependence—would grant power to the EPA to write rules or categorize products such that those new regulations wipe out state law, both statutory and common law. There is nothing “domestic” about this bill; nothing in the bill limits its application to domestic companies. Foreign manufacturers, suppliers, and retailers would be immune when their toxic fuel or fuel additives harm American consumers.

Trial is AAJ's award-winning magazine for attorneys, law professors, judges and others in the legal community.
