Nursing home resident develops infected pressure sores that lead to leg amputation

The resident, who suffered from diabetes, alleged the nursing home and its owner were liable for improper staffing and training at the home, as well as failure to establish an appropriate care plan, keep accurate records, and follow federal regulations mandating notification of family after a significant change in a resident’s condition.
