Patient develops glaucoma after optometrist fails to perform regular checks, refer patient to specialist
The patient, who now has significant vision problems, alleged that the optometrist’s sporadic testing of his intraocular pressure showed that it was rising steadily over time, but the defendant never informed him of the problem. The parties reached a $1.2 million settlement. Walsh v. Ceran.
