Case in Point

Hackers access credit card data stored by inadequately secured processor

Customers whose credit card information was stolen alleged the processing company failed to take reasonable measures to protect against unauthorized access in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. They also claimed the processor didn’t timely disclose the breach. In re: Heartland Payment Sys., Inc.
