Michael A. Ferrara, Jr. concentrates his practice in medical negligence, products liability, auto crashes and personal injury cases. He is certified by both the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney. Mr. Ferrara is past president of the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ), a Fellow of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) a Master of the Camden Inns of Court, a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and a past president and current trustee of the Civil Justice Foundation. G. Courtney French, course advisor, concentrates his practice in nursing home, medical negligence, products liability, motor vehicle, and wrongful death litigation. Mr. French is a member of AAJ’s Exchange Advisory Committee and the Board of Governors of AAJ’s New Lawyers Division. He is also the Vice President of the Alabama Association for Justice. Thomas S. McGrath represents homeowners and commercial property owners against building contractors, pest control operators, architects, and real estate agents regarding construction defects, termite damage, pesticide exposure, toxic mold, and real estate fraud. He is a frequent lecturer on these subjects and a Diplomate of AAJ’s NCA. Mr. McGrath is admitted to practice in Colorado, Illinois, and Alabama. Charlotte A. Morris, M.A., has been assisting lawyers in litigation since 1993. Her expertise includes the design and analysis of focus group research, case theme development, opening statement/closing argument construction, the development of supplemental juror questionnaires, attorney and judge conducted voir dire and jury strategies, as well as witness evaluation and preparation. Ms. Morris has frequently served on the faculty of AAJ Education trial advocacy colleges and has been a featured guest speaker at Inns of Court, bar association conferences, continuing education programs, and other litigation practice seminars. For six years she worked with the firm of Zagnoli McEvoy Foley, Ltd., in Chicago and is now a solo practitioner in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Stacey Mullins Garbowit concentrates her practice in personal injury and wrongful death trial practice, domestic litigation and business dispute litigation. She is a frequent lecturer on jury selection, use of demonstrative evidence, case development and presentation, trial tactics, and effective use of expert testimony. Ms. Garbowit is a past member of the Board of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, as well as a member of the AAJ’s Law Schools Sub-Committee. She is with the firm of Lavalle Brown Ronan & Mullins, P.A. in Boca Raton, Florida.
Paul J. Scoptur, course advisor, is a founding partner in the plaintiff’s personal injury litigation firm of Aiken & Scoptur, S.C. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is a past cochair of the NCA Board of Trustees as well as a past member of the AAJ Board of Governors. Mr. Scoptur lectures on the state and national level in the area of trial skills. He is a member of the American Society of Trial Consultants, has extensive experience working as a trial consultant, and is a founding member of Miller, Scoptur, Vesper & Shar, a case consulting and litigation support firm. He has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America continuously since 2002 and is one of Wisconsin’s top 50 “Super Lawyers” in the area of personal injury. Mr. Scoptur is a Diplomate of AAJ’s NCA and has completed the Advanced Studies in Trial Advocacy curriculum offered by the NCA.
