Consolidated lawsuits, Senate committee look at DePuy hip implant recall
As hundreds of lawsuits in a multidistrict litigation over defective hip implants begin to enter the discovery phase, the Senate Special Committee on Aging heard testimony last week from a patient who had a second hip replacement surgery after the implant recall. “In my mind, recalls were for dishwashers and cars, not body parts,” the patient told the committee.
