Negligent surgery causes patient's aortic valve to malfunction
The patient, who will require additional surgery every ten to 12 years, alleged that the surgeon misplaced a stitch, which caused the valve to malfunction. Suit also alleged that an anesthesiologist who was serving as an echocardiographer during the procedure failed to properly inspect the valve. Oden v. Schwartz.
