AAJ Education's Rapid Response Webinar on the Proposed BP Oil Settlement Agreement-in-Principle provided an overview of the preliminary agreement-in-principle and what lies ahead for the more than 120,000 plaintiffs in the civil lawsuit arising from the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history.
The settlement of economic loss claims and medical claims is to be fully funded by BP Oil. There is a separate fund for the commercial fishing industry. The settlement, which is estimated at $7.8 billion, also addresses the future of the Gulf Coast Claims Facility. Get the proposed settlement details and analysis from those closely involved in negotiations.
