STAC Call for Judges

AAJ needs your help in judging the annual Student Trial Advocacy Competition (STAC).  The competition is an exceptional opportunity for law school students to develop and practice their trial advocacy skills.  This annual competition relies on attorneys like you to donate time and expertise toward fostering the brightest young legal minds.

Fourteen regional competitions will be held March 20-23 in Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Houston, TX; Louisville, KY; New York, NY; Omaha, NE; Pittsburg, PA; Raleigh, NC; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; and Washington, DC.  The top team from each region will advance to the national finals April 10-13 in Santa Monica, CA.  Teams will be judged on their skills in case preparation, opening statements, use of facts, examination of lay and expert witnesses, and closing arguments.

Volunteers needed! Click on the location below that you are interested in judging to sign up directly online.  If your location does not yet have a direct link please e-mail stac@justice.org to sign up today!

Attorneys who are interested in volunteering as judges or would like more information should e-mail STAC@justice.org.  We hope you will volunteer your time and share your expertise!

Volunteers may be able to obtain CLE credit for serving as a judge in a mock trial competition; check with your state Bar to find out.
