Case in Point

Wrong medication injected during sinus surgery

Suit alleged that a surgical center and an otolaryngologist failed to timely determine that a patient had been injected with the wrong medication. The plaintiffs further claimed that the defendants failed to follow safe medical protocols and stop the surgery when the patient became bradycardic. The jury awarded $5.1 million. Ditore v. Zager.
