Speaker Qualifications

Speakers need only be willing and able to share their legal knowledge and experience with their colleagues. The keys to a successful presentation include learning objectives, practical applications, use of visual aids, and preparation of a speaker paper.

  1. For compliance with CLE accreditation requirements, all speakers must submit a written paper to supplement their presentation. (If selected, AAJ Education staff will provide paper guidelines.)
  2. Lawyers must also be members in good standing with both AAJ and their State Trial Lawyer Association to speak at an AAJ program.
  3. Speakers who teach at AAJ education programs are volunteers. Speakers are responsible for all travel-related expenses and, for conventions, speakers must pay the convention registration fee.

Selection of Program Content Proposals

Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  1. Relevance to AAJ members
  2. Practical application
  3. Timeliness of the subject matter/topic

If your proposal is selected, you will be contacted by AAJ staff and provided with more detailed information including guidelines for speaker papers. All proposals will be kept on file in our faculty database for consideration at future AAJ Education programs.
