www.justice.org Legal Links

The www.justice.org
legal links page is intended to assist AAJ Members and the public
locate Internet resources of a non commercial nature that are likely
to be of interest to lawyers. Specifically this includes government
and educational sites with a legal or regulatory emphasis as well
as legal associations. It includes legal lists and Internet tools
aimed at helping users locate legal and more general information on
the Internet. It also includes general Internet resources.
For these guidelines,
"commercial" means sites with the purpose of promoting the sale of products
or services or sites that charge fees for access to information. The presence
of advertising on a site does not mean the site is commercial.
Regardless of the preceding,
www.justice.org will not provide links on the legal links page to the following:
- Trial Magazine advertisers,
potential advertisers and their competitors. (AAJ Mart and paid www.justice.org banner advertising are available for those purposes.)
- Lawyers, law firms
or providers of lawyer services. Specifically www.justice.org will not provide
links to AAJ member home pages or any other web pages that provide preferential
treatment of specific AAJ members on either the Legal Links page or on
www.justice.org discussion group home pages. Members are advised to provide
their web address to the membership department for inclusion in their
member record so that web addresses will automatically be included in
AAJ's directories, including www.justice.org's on-line member directory.
- Sites with objectionable
content. For examples of objectionable content, see the Amendments to
the www.justice.org Advertising Guidelines passed
by the Board of Governors on April 5, 1997.
Before proposed sites
are included on the legal links page, they will be provided to the members
of the www.justice.org links committee for review. If any objections are raised,
the site will not be included without the approval of the committee or other
appropriate review authority. .gov and .edu domain sites (except .edu\~)
will be exempt from prior committee review. Any existing link on the legal
links page may be reviewed at any time and removed as appropriate.
