Board of Governors
www.justice.org Advertising Guidelines

1. www.justice.org will accept tower banner advertising on the left side of most pages, including the home page. Certain areas of www.justice.org, such as the Foundations, contributions, etc., will not accept banner advertising.

2. In general www.justice.org will not accept banner advertising for areas including:

- publications
- lawyer advertising
- CLE seminars, teleseminars, online learning, or trial skills programs
- conventions
- foundations
- lawyer marketing "directories" - Web sites which list lawyers and law firms by county, state, etc.
- any company whose ads would conflict with an AAJ affinity program, i.e., credit card company, rental car company, etc.

www.justice.org reserves the right to reject any ad that would infringe upon AAJ policy interests.

3. Individual expert witnesses will be able to post an advertising banner only after they have provided five attorney references, with two of them being AAJ members. Ad banners from legal research-type companies and legal media companies will be approved on a case-by-case basis. Advertisers should check with the Associate Director of Sales for details.

4. www.justice.org will not accept deceptive advertising, or ads which are excessively animated. www.justice.org reserves the right to reject any banner copy or link that does not conform with reasonable standards of good taste, and reserves the right to set additional requirements or restrictions for online advertisers on a case by case basis.

5. www.justice.org will not accept advertising for certain products–among them firearms, tobacco, and alcoholic beverages–that negatively affect the health and safety of the public-at-large. www.justice.org will not accept advertising that contains copy with sexual or other connotations in questionable taste.

6. www.justice.org discourages advertising copy that refers to large jury awards or settlements or that otherwise appeals primarily to maximizing awards. www.justice.org shall not accept advertising copy that specifies monetary awards. www.justice.org also discourages overemphasis on price; emphasis should be on product quality, content, and value for legal audience.

7. In any "legal mall" area on www.justice.org, where advertising companies are categorized, the order of appearance to the viewer will be on a rotational basis. All companies will have an even chance of appearing at the top of their category list.

8. www.justice.org encourages the submission of advertisements that help demonstrate the beneficial contribution trial lawyers make to ensuring that we have a civil justice system that protects the rights of individuals. We advocate ad content which focuses on helping victims and seeking justice.
