Congratulations
to
Lori Tracoma of Cantor Arkema and Edmonds in Richmond, VA
2008 Paralegal of the Year Recipient-
Lori Tracoma began working at Cantor Arkema 27 years ago. She started
out as the receptionist back when the firm was still a “3 man
law firm”. The firm now boasts 21 lawyers and Lori is now what
the attorneys call “the leader of the pack” in the personal
injury litigation group. She realized that she loved the law when
she took an elective course in college on Tort Law. When Attorney
Cantor began doing personal injury cases, she just fell right into
the role. She truly enjoys working with her clients. She works on
their cases all the way through the trial, including drafting most
pleadings. Many of the firm's clients have returned over and over
again. Lori has even gone as far as personally taking baked meals
to the most injured clients. She also remembers the clients with whom
she has cried with, those who have lost children, and the ones who
have had other tragedies strike. For them, Lori works countless hours
to see justice prevail.
Lori has trained new associates with the practicalities of the court
system. Last year, she co-chaired a seminar for the Virginia Trial
Lawyers which saw its largest turn out in history. She attends at
least 2 seminars a year with the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association
and has been a member of AAJ for seven years. She is also a member
of the Richmond Association of Legal Assistants.
Lori is dedicated to her profession and works hard for her clients.
Her motto is to "always be truthful and honest with them."
Elliott Buckner, the attorney who nominated Lori, said “Lori’s
commitment to her clients not only sets her apart from other paralegal,
it elevates her profession”.
Ms. Tracoma is truly deserving of this award and we are pleased to
have her as our 2008 AAJ Paralegal of the Year recipient.
