AAJ: State Farm Puts Corporate Profits Ahead of Mississippi Residents

Thursday, February 15, 2007 (Washington, DC)—American Association for Justice (AAJ) - formerly known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America - CEO Jon Haber today issued the following statement after State Farm Insurance Company announced it is no longer writing homeowner policies in the state of Mississippi.

“State Farm is putting corporate profits ahead of the interests of Mississippi’s homeowners, many of whom face financial ruin. Instead of honoring fair and just claims, the company is holding hostage the state's policyholders - forcing them to choose between economic stability in their communities and a just resolution of their claims. This is unfortunately part of the pattern of greed adopted by many in the insurance industry.”
