Who's on Your Side? Learn More About e-Discovery

Companies like tobacco giant Philip Morris USA and Celebrex manufacturer Pfizer, Inc., are among the many corporate heavyweights lobbying a committee of federal court rulemakers to make their emails difficult to obtain. The result can only be to make it more difficult to hold wrongdoers accountable when they put profits ahead of safety and American lives.

America's economy depends on businesses that compete on a level playing field. When corporations and their CEOs bypass the law and make money at the expense of public safety, lawyers must be able to hold them accountable. Anything that hinders the process of finding evidence for court—known as "discovery"—always benefits company executives and their corporations at the expense of the public.

AAJ and its members have worked hard to protect the right to obtain evidence that may shed light on their wrongdoing. Make sure you and your friends know who's on your side—and who isn't.
