Volunteer Opportunities & Events

Do you have a volunteer opportunity that you would like to share? Send an email to tlc@justice.org.

The American Association for Justice encourages and highlights trial attorneys' volunteer and charitable activities through its Trial Lawyers Care Initiative. In addition, the association provides a number of opportunities for attorneys to get involved in community service activities throughout the year and during the AAJ Winter and Annual Conventions.

AAJ Voter Protection Action Committee (VPAC)

In 2012, over 1,000 AAJ members across the country volunteered with AAJ's VPAC campaign to protect the right to vote.  This year, we are organizing lawyers, paralegals, and law students around the country to volunteer at polling places, work in call centers, and join election protection legal teams on Election Day.  SIGN UP HERE

Habitat for Humanity

AAJ’s New Lawyers Division organizes a public service project through Habitat for Humanity at both the Annual and Winter Conventions. AAJ members have helped build new homes, repair old ones, and clean and restore parks and public spaces in the cities AAJ visits for convention. The Habitat day of service is typically the day prior to the start of convention.

End Distracted Driving

Hundreds of lawyers across North American are volunteering in their communities and making presentations at their local high schools to inform teens about simple steps that drivers and passengers can make immediately to help end distracted driving.

These attorneys are sharing an informative and inspiring presentation that was developed by a trial lawyer whose daughter was killed by a distracted driver. Together, they’ve reached more than 200,000 students and community members. To learn more please go to www.EndDD.org.
