Sexual harassment

March 12, 2020

Mahim Khan, who was in her 30s, worked as a production assistant for FilmOn TV and Alki David Productions Inc. For a one-year period, she was the target of inappropriate behavior by the companies’ owner, Alkiviades David. Specifically, David allegedly grabbed Khan’s neck and moved it toward his crotch while she was sitting at her desk, touched her inappropriately, and performed a lap dance on her in front of a client. Khan, who resigned from her position, suffered post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.

Khan sued David, FilmOn TV, and Alki David Productions, alleging battery, sexual battery, and sexual harassment in violation of California's Fair Employment and Housing Act, Cal. Gov’t Code §12900 et seq.

The jury awarded $58.25 million, including $50 million in punitive damages against David.
