Message from Susan M. Cremer, Section ChairI am honored to act once again as Chair of the Federal Tort Liability and Military Advocacy Section. It is my hope that 2009 will be another great year for the Section.

As a Section, we are tracking the progress of House Resolution 6093, a bill pending in Congress to abolish the bar of the Feres Doctrine as applied to medical malpractice claims arising out of medical negligence on active duty military members at military hospitals. We also continue to follow the broader resolution initiated by the District of Columbia Bar Association and adopted by the American Bar Association this fall.

I encourage you to join this Section and seek its resources and look forward to another productive and successful year for the Federal Tort Liability Section.
