Register two or more lawyers from your firm at the same time, and take $70 off the registration fee for each registrant.

AAJ Paralegal Affiliates may attend this college and receive 50% off the registration fee if they are employed by and attending with an AAJ plaintiff attorney from the same firm with the same firm address.

W. Harold “Sonny” Flowers, Jr. concentrates his practice in personal injury, professional malpractice, criminal defense, and commercial litigation.  He is active in numerous professional associations and is past president of the Boulder County Bar, Sam Cary Bar, and Colorado Trial Lawyers Associations.  Mr. Flowers served on the American Association for Justice’s Board of Governors and Executive Committee and is a member of AAJ’s Criminal Law, Motor Vehicle Collision, Highway and Premises Liability, and Professional Negligence Sections.  Mr. Flowers served as vice president of the Colorado Bar Association and of the National Bar Association, and continues to serve on the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association’s executive committee.  He lectures frequently on trial advocacy and is past president of the University of Colorado at Boulder Alumni Association and is a former member of the University of Colorado Foundation’s Board of Directors.  Hurth, Sisk & Blakemore, LLP is located in Boulder, Colorado.

Carrie R. Frank, J.D., M.S.S.W., course advisor is a partner with Klein | Frank, P.C. in Boulder, Colorado, where she concentrates her practice in personal injury and products liability litigation.  She has consistently been recognized as a leading attorney in her field, was voted a Colorado SuperLawyer since 2009, rated as one of the top 3000 attorneys by LawDragon, and listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2012.   She is a Diplomate of AAJ’s National College of Advocacy (NCA) and has completed AAJ’s Advanced Studies in Trial Advocacy; she is one of only a handful of woman attorneys who has obtained those designations.  Ms. Frank is a past chair of the American Association for Justice Products Liability section and a past president of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.  She teaches nationwide and has taught at ATLA’s Ultimate Trial Advocacy Course and Mega College.  She was a member of the NCA Board of Trustees.  Ms. Frank also has a Master’s degree in social work, which is valuable for her work as a trial consultant and in running focus groups. 

Erik S. Heninger concentrates his practice in professional negligence, medical negligence, products liability, and personal injury litigation.  He is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, Young Lawyers Executive Committee, American and Alabama State Bar Associations, and American Association for Justice.  Mr. Heninger is the author of numerous articles, including “A Brief Analysis of Nonverbal Communication in the Courtroom,” published in Alabama Trial Lawyers Journal, and has taught on various trial advocacy topics nationwide.  Heninger Garrison Davis, L.L.C. is located in Birmingham, Alabama.

Thomas J. Manzella, Jr. concentrates his practice in catastrophic personal injury, workers’ compensation, products liability, wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, construction site injury, and trucking and vehicular collision litigation.  He is a member of the Will County Bar, Illinois State Bar, and Illinois Trial Lawyers Associations.  Mr. Manzella is a member of the American Association for Justice’s Leaders Forum and of the Motor Vehicle Collision, Highway and Premises Liability Section.  Block, Klukas & Manzella, P.C. is located in Joliet, Illinois.

Thomas S. McGrath concentrates in construction and consumer law, representing the rights of homeowners in new construction home defects, termite and pest control claims, and real estate fraud.  He is a frequent lecturer on these subjects and a Diplomate of the American Association for Justice’s NCA.  Mr. McGrath is a member of the Alabama Association for Justice.  The McGrath Law Firm is located in Huntsville, Alabama.

Emily Hawk Mills concentrates her practice in personal injury litigation.  She serves on AAJ’s Board of Governors, the NCA Board of Trustees and on several committees, including the American Bar Association Liaison Committee and the Litigation Group Leaders Council.  She serves on the Executive Committee and chairs the Women’s Caucus of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association and is a member of the Etowah County Bar and the Alabama Bar Associations.  Ms. Raley is a partner at the firm Cusimano, Keener, Roberts, Knowles & Mills, LLC in Gadsden, Alabama.

Murray Ogborn is a founding partner in the law firm of Ogborn Mihm LLP, where he concentrates his practice in personal injury, products liability, and insurance bad faith litigation.  He is one of the founders of ATLA’s Ultimate Trial Advocacy College: Art of Persuasion, named Best of the Bar by the Denver Business Journal, and has been selected as a Colorado Super Lawyer in 5280, the Denver magazine, each year since the beginning of the award in 2006.  Mr. Ogborn is a past president of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, has served in various capacities for the American Association for Justice since 1976, is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers.  He has spoken nationally on trial advocacy topics and is known for using storytelling, case thematic techniques, and focus groups in the preparation and trial of cases.  He also conducts focus groups for clients through his consulting firm, Mojo Consulting.  Ogborn Mihm LLP is located in Denver, Colorado.

Deirdre E. Ostrowski concentrates her practice in catastrophic personal injury, motor vehicle collision, premises liability, wrongful death, medical negligence, and products liability litigation. She is a member of the Colorado Bar, American Bar, Denver Bar, and Colorado Trial Lawyers Associations.  She is listed as a Rising Star by Colorado Super Lawyer magazine.  Ms. Ostrowski interned at Fogel Keating Wagner Polidori Free during law school and is now a partner with the Denver based firm.  She is listed as a Rising Star by Colorado Super Lawyer magazine. 

James C. Plummer, course advisor concentrates his practice in insurance claims, bad faith, ERISA disability, accidental death, and personal injury and wrongful death litigation.  He is a frequent speaker on trial practice, insurance, fire loss, and bad faith litigation.  Mr. Plummer is a member of the American Association for Justice and serves on the NCA Board of Trustees.  He is a past president of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association, the Houston Lawyers Association, and a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.  He has tried more than a hundred cases in the state and federal courts of Texas and other jurisdictions.  James C. Plummer & Associates is located in Houston, Texas.
