DePuy Metal On Metal Hip Implant

For 10 years now, Johnson & Johnson's DePuy Orthopaedics has faced criticism and litigation over its metal-on-metal hip replacements causing heavy metal poisoning resulting in tissue death, muscle wasting, bone loss, and even worse injuries. In 2010, Johnson & Johnson recalled its metal-on-metal ASR hip replacement system worldwide, eventually paying billions of dollars to settle lawsuits involving that system. Since that time, increasing problems have been reported involving Johnson & Johnson's DePuy Pinnacle metal-on-metal hip replacement system. Although it was never recalled, a settlement of thousands of cases involving that system was announced in late 2018. However, extensive litigation involving the Pinnacle metal-on-metal hip replacement system continues across the United States.

This Litigation Group supports AAJ members representing clients bringing claims against Johnson & Johnson for heavy metal poisoning and other injuries caused by the company's defective metal-on-metal hip replacements. Regular meetings will be held to share information, coordinate litigation strategy, and ultimately obtain justice on behalf of patients injured by DePuy metal-on-metal hip replacements.

• Annual Dues: $300/attorney, $100/additional attorney ($400 max)
