Focuses on entitlements to compensation, benefits, and workplace safety for first responders, particularly those who are injured in the line-of-duty. The Litigation Group will assist members better represent first responders by providing a forum to share resources and exchange information and documents to benefit their practice.

Protecting First Responders/Line-of-Duty Injury

First responders— such as police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs—serve and protect every community in America, endangering their lives and their families’ livelihoods for the sake of others. However, when it comes to protecting themselves and preserving their legal rights, including the right to be compensated fairly for injuries, first responders are often under-informed of their legal rights.

The Protecting First Responders/Line-of-Duty Injury Litigation Group focuses on entitlements to compensation, benefits, and workplace safety for first responders, particularly those who are injured in the line-of-duty. The Litigation Group will help members better represent first responders by providing a forum to share resources and exchange information and documents to benefit their practice.

The Protecting First Responders/Line-of-Duty Injury Litigation Group has a members-only list server and a document library where members can share information, documents, and pertinent information as well as holds education programs.

Meetings:

AAJ Annual and Winter Conventions, or as needed by group members.

Dues:

$200/attorney, $100/additional attorney ($400 max)
