Presented with AAJ’s Social Security Disability Law Section

A Letter From the Course Advisor

Proving your client is disabled under the Social Security Act, and handling Social Security disability claims can be a long and tedious process. AAJ’s Social Security Success! Seminar, January 18–19 in New Orleans, helps you navigate the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) complicated bureaucracy so your clients can obtain the disability benefits to which they are entitled.

The seminar begins with an introduction to Social Security Disability law—if you are new to this practice area, this seminar will give you the base you need to get started. As a veteran of the practice, this seminar will refresh the basics while offering valuable insights into practice management and new technology tools. Learn what questions you need to ask before and after taking a case, and what happens to your clients after the verdict.

Throughout the program, experienced faculty address topics Social Security disability lawyers often face, including navigating the complexities of SSA processing, Veterans Affairs, and long term disability claims. Take the opportunity to network with fellow Social Security Disability trial lawyers, hear from Social Security Administration staff, and learn valuable tips to market your practice. The program also includes an update from AAJ Public Affairs staff.

Program Highlights:
• Trends in Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) decisions
• Review of the Veterans Affairs Claims Process
• Best practice in firm marketing and technology tools
• Breakout Session geared towards practice level
• Tips from Social Security Administration Staff and AAJ Public Affairs
• 2 hours of ethics credits

—David J. Fitzpatrick, La Crosse, WI, 12 years in practice
