Associate Director, Creative Services (09-07)
AAJ is seeking an Associate Director of Creative Services to be responsible for the following:
• Provide creative direction for, and conceptualize, design, and manage production of all materials that promote AAJ products, services, and membership, and its affiliates. Work with marketing team to develop and produce campaigns that meet sales goals, budget restrictions, and branding requirements.
• Manage and provide day to day supervisory oversight of creative services team, and oversee the work of freelance artists, designers, photographers, etc.
• Coach client services team on design concepts.
Minimum Qualifications for this position are as follows:
• Bachelors degree in fine arts or graphic design.
• Minimum 10 years experience in graphic design and print production.
• Minimum 5 years experience supervising other designers and members of creative services team, including copywriters, in a direct reporting relationship is required.
• Minimum 5 years experience in direct responsibility of brand management.
• Strong art direction, design, negotiation, and project management skills are required, along with extensive experience with printing processes, and proficiency in the following software programs: Quark, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Intermediate proficiency in web media and design is required. Supervisory experience and budget responsibility is required.
• Budget responsibility and branding oversight in a management role is required.
• Experience managing relationships with printers, photographers/illustrators, service bureaus, paper merchants, and other vendors.
• Association and/or agency experience is preferred.
