Robert Berkstresser’s expertise in the field of charter, transit and school bus operations is backed by over 41 years of broad experience. Mr. Berkstresser maintains a current commercial driver’s license as well as certification from the California Department of Education as a school bus, transit bus, and motor coach driving instructor. He has held management positions over a 35-year span overseeing all carrier operations including DOT regulation compliance, vehicle procurement, and maintenance activities. Mr. Berkstresser is based out of San Diego, California.
Katherine E. Harvey-Lee
Katherine E. Harvey-Lee is a partner at Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman. She litigates complex catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases stemming from commercial vehicle crashes involving busses, big-rigs, military vehicles, off-road vehicles, and other commercial vehicles, including those involving automotive defects. Ms. Harvey-Lee is the Chair-Elect for the American Association for Justice Bus Accident Litigation Group. She has extensive experience handling bus crash and truck crash cases across the United States. In 2013, Trial magazine published her article, “Put the Brakes on ‘Curbside’ Bus Abuse” in their “Danger on the Road” edition in which Kate discusses poor oversight and the easily manipulated licensing laws that make it simple for cut-rate carriers to hide from lawsuits. Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman, PC, an AAJ Leaders Forum member, is located in Los Angeles, California.
Lawrence M. Simon
Lawrence M. Simon is a member of the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Chair of the AAJ Trucking Litigation Group, and an officer in the AAJ Bus Litigation Group. He has previously served as the Chair of the AAJ’s Small Firm and Sole Practitioner Section, Motor Vehicle and Premises Liability Section, and Section Leaders Council. Mr. Simon is an active member of the New Jersey Association for Justice, Bergen County Bar Association, and New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He is also an affiliated attorney for the Truck Accident Attorneys Roundtable. Javerbaum Wurgaft Hicks Kahn Wikstrom & Sinins, P.C. is an AAJ Leaders Forum member and Mr. Simon works out of their New York, New York office.
Geoffrey S. Wells
Geoffrey S. Wells is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He also is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, American Association for Justice and an officer of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles where he currently serves on their Board of Governors. Since 1995, Geoff has served as an arbitrator for the Superior Court for the County of Los Angeles. He is a frequent lecturer on trial preparation and practice in California. Greene, Broillet & Wheeler, LLP, an AAJ Leaders Forum member, is located in Santa Monica, California.
