Dorothy Clay Sims
Dorothy Clay Sims specializes in medical expert testimony and cross-examination. In addition to practicing workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability law, she has given over 350 speeches on medical/legal issues throughout the United States and the world. She is the author of Exposing the Deceptive Defense Doctor, and has been published in the American Association for Justice’s (AAJ) Trial Magazine; the Champion Magazine; the National Journal for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; and most recently, in Brain Injury Professional. She is a member of AAJ’s Personal Jurisdiction Litigation Group; Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group; New Lawyers Division; and a member of AAJ’s Press Advisory Board. The Law Office of Dorothy Clay Sims is located in Ocala, Florida.
Dr. Jennifer van Velkinburgh
Dr. Jennifer van Velkinburgh received her PhD in Molecular Physiology & Biophysics from Vanderbilt University. Dr. van Velkinburgh’s research experience and publication record in high impact peer-reviewed journals, such as Nature and Science Translational Medicine, reflect her expertise in a broad range of scientific disciplines, including infectious disease pathology and immune response, metabolic and neurological disorders, and global threats to both human health and agriculture/livestock economies. Dr. van Velkinburgh has edited and written over 20,000 pages of scientific papers, case reports and grants for independent clients and as a contracted editor for the World Health Organization. In addition, she completed an advanced education in Business Administration (major in Accounting) and has professional experience in Finance (specializing in strategic planning) and Small Business Entrepreneurship. Her worldwide travels and international collaborations through Europe, the Middle East, and Asia have instilled a deep respect for the intricacies of international and interdisciplinary communication.
