PFC Water Contamination
Perfluorinated Chemicals, or PFCs, are a large group of manufactured compounds used to make products more resistant to stains, grease, and water. There has been widespread human exposure to PFCs—airports and military airbases have discharged aqueous firefighting foams containing PFCs, and operators of plastic plants have discharged PFCs into the environment and groundwater supply.
