Takata Airbag Defect

Description:

The Takata Corporation designs, manufactures, and sells unsafe and defective airbag systems that cause metal shrapnel to explode from the airbag during deployment in an accident. Many injuries and fatalities have resulted from the airbags, and the airbag and motor vehicle manufacturers do not have the capability to recall and retrofit more than 20 million affected vehicles.

The Takata Airbag Defect Litigation Group educates members and coordinates the development of personal injury and class action litigation emanating from defective airbags manufactured and marketed by Takata Corporation as well as several major vehicle manufacturers. The group shares scientific information, litigation support documents, pre-trial and trial pleadings, depositions, and other documents. The Litigation Group conducts education seminars and also shares information about technical experts.
