Settlement for child’s death during house fire
August 13, 2024The Does’ son died in a house fire. They sued undisclosed defendants, alleging that the fire resulted from a product that failed to properly monitor its use of lithium-ion batteries. This led one of the batteries to enter into thermal runaway, the plaintiffs claimed.
After extensive litigation, the case settled before trial for $11.5 million.
