2018 TLC Award Nominations

March 2018

Every year, the American Association for Justice Trial Lawyers Care (TLC) Award recognizes the efforts of AAJ members who serve their communities and foster positive relationships with the public through volunteer activities. In many cases, candidates draw on their trial lawyer expertise to provide legal services to at-risk communities or teach about the civil justice system. Just as often, candidates choose projects that reflect their personal interests, whether that is raising money to cure a disease or making it possible for underserved kids to play basketball.

Eleven exceptional candidates were nominated for the 2017 award. Their community outreach ranged from creating a clinic in Columbus, Ohio, to helping transgender people legally change names and gender markers to helping individuals experience the competition and comradery of Special Olympics Florida.1 Jennifer Greene of New Orleans received the 2017 TLC Award for her dedication and leadership in providing much-needed school supplies for Louisiana students devastated by floods in 2016.

Each of the 2017 nominees embodies the mission and spirit of the TLC Award, and their outstanding efforts demonstrate how trial lawyers care.

If you know someone who is the driving force behind an exceptional community service project, consider nominating him or her for the 2018 TLC Award. Nominations are due by Apr. 15, and the award will be presented at AAJ’s 2018 Annual Convention in Denver. To submit a nomination or learn more, please visit www.TrialLawyersCare.org.
