Rear-end collision

September 19, 2024

Doe was driving a flatbed tractor-trailer on a highway when the driver of a corporate pickup truck allegedly rear-ended him. Doe suffered a concussion and a torn rotator cuff. He required surgery and was later diagnosed as having subclinical PTSD, chronic neck pain, and a mild traumatic brain injury. Panic attacks prevented him from returning to work as a commercial vehicle driver. His medical expenses totaled $120,000, and his past wage loss was $200,000.

Doe sued an undisclosed defendant, alleging liability for the collision. The defense asserted that Doe had not been injured in the collision.

The parties settled before trial for $900,000.
