This Litigation Group is entirely focused on litigation issues surrounding JUUL—an electric nicotine delivery system, owned by Altria, that is the most commercially marketed device of its kind currently on the United States market. JUUL proports to be a safe alternative to cigarettes for adults, but the Food and Drug Administration has never approved JUUL as a smoking cessation device, and the device has arguably been marketed and designed to appeal to youth.
The JUUL Litigation Group was formed at the 2019 AAJ Annual Convention.
The Litigation Group aims to educate and provide resources and information to AAJ members regarding issues surrounding JUUL and provide litigation support to AAJ members bringing claims against JUUL. Members will have access to the JUUL Litigation Group Document Library and the Litigation Group list server. Education programs and meetings will be held throughout the year.
