Law Student Convention Scholarship

Applications for the 2025 Annual Convention are due May 30.

AAJ has partnered with the National Plaintiffs Law Association (NPLA) to help more law students attend AAJ Conventions.

Open to all AAJ Law Student Members, this scholarship discounts convention registration and awards a travel stipend to the recipients. Recipients will be responsible for paying a $35 convention registration fee, and they will receive the travel stipend directly from NPLA after they have attended Convention. Applications are currently open for the 2025 Annual Convention in San Francisco July 18-22.

Recipients must attend at least two of the convention events below in order to receive the travel stipend:

  • Women Trial Lawyers Caucus (WTLC) Meeting, July 19
  • Law Student Membership Meeting, July 19
  • Minority Caucus Meeting, July 19
  • New Lawyers Division (NLD) Meeting, July 20
  • LGBT Caucus Meeting, July 21

 

The scholarship will be awarded to applicants who best:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to AAJ and dedication to its mission through involvement in AAJ activities
  • Show interest in pursuing a career in plaintiff law through involvement in their school's NPLA
  • Express desire to represent those who have been injured by the negligence or misconduct of others
  • Exhibit interest and proficiency of skills in trial advocacy
  • Show financial need for the scholarship 

Application Process

To apply, you must be an AAJ Law Student member (join here), be enrolled in an ABA-approved law school, and submit a complete application package.
