AAJ-NPLA Law Student Convention Scholarships
Applications for 2026 Annual Convention Scholarships will open in early spring.
AAJ has partnered with the National Plaintiffs Law Association (NPLA) to help more law students attend AAJ Annual Conventions.
Open to all AAJ Law Student Members, these scholarships discount convention registration and award a travel stipend to multiple recipients. Recipients will be responsible for paying a $35 convention registration fee, and they will receive the travel stipend directly from NPLA after they have attended Convention. Applications for the 2026 Annual Convention in Chicago July 24-28 will open in early spring.
Recipients must attend at least two of the convention events below in order to receive the travel stipend (event-specific dates to be added):
- First-Time Attendee Info Session
- Women Trial Lawyers Caucus (WTLC) Meeting
- Law Student Membership Meeting
- Minority Caucus Meeting
- First-Time Attendee Coffee Corner
- New Lawyers Division (NLD) Meeting
- LGBT Caucus Meeting
- Law Schools Committee Meeting
The scholarships will be awarded to applicants who best:
- Demonstrate a commitment to AAJ and dedication to its mission to protect the Seventh Amendment right to trial by jury through involvement in AAJ activities
- Show interest in pursuing a career in plaintiff law through involvement in their school's NPLA
- Express desire to represent those who have been injured by the negligence or misconduct of others
- Exhibit interest and proficiency of skills in trial advocacy
- Show financial need for the scholarship
Application Process
To apply, you must be an AAJ Law Student member (join here), be enrolled in an ABA-approved law school, and submit a complete application package.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
