Event Terms & Conditions

CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT:

As an attendee at this Leaders Forum Retreat, I understand that I will have access to confidential, privileged, or proprietary information, including information concerning AAJ’s legislative and/or regulatory advocacy. I agree not to disclose or disseminate such information without the written permission of AAJ, except to persons I know to be plaintiff attorney members of AAJ or members of an AAJ-affiliated trial lawyer organization. Additionally, I agree that I will not record, by audio, visual, or other means, any portion of any meeting or event during the Retreat without the permission of AAJ.

I further understand that if I knowingly and purposely violate this Agreement, my membership status in the Association will be reviewed and may be revoked; and I may be subjected to disciplinary charges, including, but not limited to, charges brought before state licensing boards. Upon request, I will provide my state bar identification number(s).

The American Association for Justice reserves the right to, in its sole discretion, refuse entrance to the event and/or remove any individual from the event whose behavior is disruptive and/or is not consistent with the character and purpose of the show. All American Association for Justice badges are the property of the American Association for Justice and must be returned to the American Association for Justice upon request.

Finally, by agreeing to the terms of this Agreement, I am certifying that if I am registering as an AAJ Regular Member at a Leaders Forum firm, I am licensed to practice law, I am actively engaged in the practice of law and that, for the most part, based on caseload and time, I represent the plaintiff in civil litigation or represent the defendant in criminal litigation.

By registering for the AAJ Leaders Forum Retreat, I and my guests agree to receive e-mail correspondence from AAJ regarding the Retreat. I and my guests also agree to have our image photographed and published in AAJ's membership publications, Web site, and be listed on public attendee rosters and lists.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

I have read and agree to all terms and conditions. If for unforeseen reasons this program is cancelled or changed, the American Association for Justice®, formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA®), cannot be held financially responsible for airline tickets or other associated fees, and room rates cannot be guaranteed. AAJ reserves the right to, in its sole discretion, refuse entrance to the event and/or remove any individual whose behavior is disruptive and/or is not consistent with the character and purpose of the show. All AAJ badges are the property of AAJ and must be returned to AAJ upon request.

By registering for this event you acknowledge that AAJ may share your name with the hotel in a registration list to audit rooms for the AAJ block and flag for inclusion in the group block for on-site room deliveries.

Attendance at this event is voluntary. By registering for the event, you acknowledge that you are not required to attend this event and that, if you choose to do so, you are attending such event voluntarily. You further acknowledge the following:

  • There is a risk that you may be exposed or infected with COVID-19 by attending such event;
  • Such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death; and
  • The risk of such exposure or infection by attending such event may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of yourself and others, including, but not limited to other attendees.

GUIDELINES AND REQUIREMENTS

Though we do not know which requirements will be in place in May 2023, we currently anticipate the following guidelines will be implemented:

  • Attendees will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test.
  • This information will be collected by an outside health organization, which will also monitor compliance with health and safety checks. They will coordinate with AAJ staff as it relates to eligibility of registrants to attend events.
  • Attendees may be required to submit to daily temperature checks.
  • Attendees may be required to affirm their health status daily via an online survey.
  • Attendee registration will be limited to ensure physical and social distancing.
  • Attendees may be required to wear a face mask in public areas.
  • Attendees should bring their own facemasks, facemasks will be available onsite as well.
  • Physical/social distancing will be respectively enforced.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available and frequent hand washing is encouraged.

By attending this event, I agree to abide by and engage in certain health-and-safety-beneficial conduct while attending the event. This includes, but is not limited to, submitting to daily temperature checks, wearing a mask at all times in public areas, engaging in appropriate physical distancing and not attending the event if you are ill or have been recently exposed to COVID-19.
