AAJ Announces Navan Ward as New President of Plaintiff Trial Bar

July 15,2021

Washington, DC — The American Association for Justice (AAJ®) is pleased to announce that Atlanta trial lawyer Navan Ward was sworn in as the new president of AAJ during the 2021 annual convention. Ward is a principal at the Beasley Allen Law Firm and is the firm’s lead attorney on the metal-on-metal hip implant litigation and proton pump inhibitor (PPI) litigation. Ward is licensed to practice in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and New York.

“AAJ stands for all of things I have fought so hard for in my career –safeguarding the constitutional rights of injured people and ensuring that they can pursue justice and accountability. That’s why I am deeply honored to serve as AAJ’s president this year,” Ward said. “Access to justice through our courts is a foundational principle of our nation, a principle that we must properly appreciate and value. Too often large corporations seek to chip away at that principle and close courtroom doors. It is my intention this year to advance our mission so that all individuals, families, patients, workers, and consumers—can seek justice in front of judge and jury.”

Ward was named Beasley Allen’s Litigator of the Year in 2013 and Mass Torts Litigator of the Year in 2011 and 2014. He has extensive experience in mass torts involving pharmaceutical drug and device litigation as well as years of experience in Beasley Allen’s Personal Injury Section, where he mostly litigated nursing home neglect and abuse, as well as wrongful death trucking cases. Ward has been a dedicated member of AAJ receiving many awards and serving as past chairman of the Minority Caucus, the Diversity Committee and a member of the Board of Governors. Additionally he is a former Alabama State Bar delegate for the American Bar Association, past president of the Alabama Lawyers Association, the Alabama State Bar’s Young Lawyers Section, and the Montgomery County Association for Justice. Ward resides in Atlanta with his wife (Bridget) and twin sons (Roman and Jaxon).

The AAJ officers joining Millrood include Immediate Past President Tobi Millrood of Pogust Millrood in Philadelphia; President-Elect Tad Thomas of Thomas Law Offices in Chicago, Columbia, Mo. and Louisville, Ky.; Vice President Sean C. Domnick of Domnick Cunningham & Whalen in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; Secretary Lori Andrus of Andrus Anderson LLP in San Francisco; Treasurer Bruce Plaxen of Plaxen Adler Muncy, P.A. in Columbia, Md.; and Parliamentarian N.
