AAJ Statement on Families Being Separated at the U.S. Border

June 19,2018

Washington, DC — The following is a statement from American Association for Justice President Kathleen Nastri on the current practice of separating families that are seeking asylum in the U.S.:

“We condemn the Trump Administration policy resulting in the separation of children from their parents at the U.S. border. These actions are risking the safety and well-being of innocent children. We call on the Administration to immediately halt this practice and to reunite these traumatized families.

“This is not who we are as a nation. We can and must do better.”
