May 01,2025

WHEREAS, the mission of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), includes the commitment to further the rule of law and the civil justice system; and

WHEREAS, AAJ embraces the concept of the rule of law as a bright beacon in the founding of the United States of America and in the American system of government, under which no person is above the law and all persons, institutions, and entities are accountable to laws; and

WHEREAS, AAJ recognizes that the courts play an integral role in upholding the rule of law and that trial lawyers are essential to maintaining the rule of law on behalf of all Americans;

WHEREAS, AAJ stands against any and all attacks on the legal profession; and

WHEREAS, AAJ stands against any and all attempts to penalize or threaten lawyers and law firms for representing certain clients; and

WHEREAS, AAJ condemns attempts to impeach judges and threats to judges whose decisions do not align with certain political interests;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR JUSTICE supports and is committed to protecting and upholding the rule of law, and urges all branches of government to uphold the laws of the land.
