July 25,2017

Boston, MA — The American Association for Justice (AAJ) is pleased to announce that Connecticut attorney Kathleen Nastri has been sworn in as the new AAJ President at the 2017 Annual Convention in Boston.

Nastri is a partner at Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and has more than 25 years of dedicated experience fighting for the rights of injured individuals and ensuring negligent health care providers are held accountable in court for harming their patients.

“I have been a longtime supporter of AAJ and its important mission to protect Americans’ access to our nation’s courtrooms,” said Nastri. “Having the opportunity to serve as the organization’s President is an honor, and I look forward to working with AAJ members to further protect the rights of all Americans and to maintain a clear path to a fair and effective justice system.”

In addition to being an active member of AAJ, Nastri is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA) where she co-chaired CTLA’s Continuing Legal Education Committee and served as CTLA Vice President and Treasurer before making history as the organization’s first female President in 2003. In 2008, CTLA elected Nastri to serve on the Board of Governors of AAJ as its state senator.

Nastri is joined by a new set of AAJ officers including President-Elect Elise Sanguinetti of Arias Sanguinetti Stahle & Torrijos LLP in Oakland, California; Vice-President Bruce H. Stern of Stark & Stark of Princeton, New Jersey; Secretary Tobi L. Millrood of Pogust, Braslow & Millrood in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania; Treasurer Navan Ward, Jr. of Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles in Montgomery, Alabama; and Parliamentarian Tad Thomas of Thomas Law Offices in Louisville, Kentucky.
