Food poisoning from Subway turkey sandwich
June/July 2022Doe, 18, ate a turkey sandwich from a Subway restaurant. After eating the sandwich, she developed food poisoning. Eight months pregnant, she went into premature labor and delivered her babies one month early. They required treatment in a newborn intensive care unit.
Doe, through a guardian, sued the owner of the Subway restaurant, alleging negligent failure to keep the turkey she was served at the proper temperature.
The parties settled for more than $19,400.
