Settlement for laborer’s mesothelioma
May 9, 2023Doe was a union laborer at Bethlehem Steel from 1969 to 1972. During his tenure, he was exposed to asbestos-containing insulation and gaskets while helping millwrights perform maintenance and repair work on pumps, valves, and boilers. He also was exposed to asbestos-containing hot tops used to produce steel ingots. At age 73, he was diagnosed as having mesothelioma. He died several months later.
Suit on Doe’s behalf resolved before jury selection for $1.6 million.
