Child lacerates fingers on sharp oven vents
June 4, 2024Owen Moffett, a toddler, was standing next to his mother while she was at the stove in their kitchen. Moffett reached for the handle of the Frigidaire oven and cut his right middle and index fingers on allegedly sharp metal vents behind the handle. The child required wound treatment for his hand lacerations.
Moffett sued Electrolux North America, which manufactured and sold the appliance, alleging liability for his injuries.
The parties settled for $10,500, plus replacement of the oven.
