Settlement for talc user’s mesothelioma
October 8, 2024Jerry Newton, who used talc products from approximately 1962 to the early 2000s, was diagnosed as having malignant mesothelioma.
He and his wife sued Johnson & Johnson, among others, alleging claims for negligence, strict liability, vicarious liability, breach of warranty, fraudulent misrepresentation, and conspiracy. The plaintiffs claimed that Newton’s illness resulted from the inhalation of asbestos fibers in the defendants’ products.
The parties settled for an undisclosed amount.
