Negligent placement of dental implants
July 19, 2022Doe consulted Roe dentist and was told that she required extensive dental work, including multiple extractions and placement of implants and a lower bridge. After undergoing the recommended dental work, Doe lost a tooth and experienced severe pain. She required major remedial treatment performed by another dentist. This took more than a year and cost her $100,000.
Doe sued Roe, alleging he negligently failed to take appropriate imaging, created a prosthesis over compromised teeth, and placed her implants too close to each other and at divergent angles, among other things.
The parties settled for $240,000.
