Inadequate fall prevention measures
January/February 2023While living at Brandywine Senior Living at Senior Suites, Marie DiMedio—who suffered from muscle weakness and epilepsy—fell multiple times. One fall led to a fractured right femur, which necessitated surgery. Her condition declined, and she died shortly after.
DiMedio is survived by her three children and three grandchildren.
DiMedio’s granddaughter sued Brandywine Senior Suites LLC and related entities, alleging improper fall prevention measures, negligent supervision, and failure to properly assess DiMedio’s mental status, among other things.
The parties settled for $175,000.
