Mishandled shoulder dystocia
January/February 2023During Doe’s delivery, one of her shoulders became stuck behind her mother’s pubic bone. She was later diagnosed as having suffered a brachial plexus injury resulting in Erb’s palsy.
Suit alleged that a treating physician had negligently mishandled shoulder dystocia.
The parties settled for $1 million.
