Inadequate assistance during standing activity
May/Jun 2023Doe required a wheelchair after suffering a spinal cord injury. She was admitted to the Roe Health Care Facility for physical therapy. During one session, the therapist allegedly attempted to have Doe stand using parallel bars. Doe slid forward in her wheelchair and landed on floor, fracturing both ankles.
Suit against the facility alleged that the physical therapist should have had assistance during the session to prevent Doe from falling.
The parties settled for $500,000.
